Sri Lanka treated to a rare view of Venus

Earth’s closest neighbor Venus is currently at its closest point to planet Earth, and it is set to reach its peak today.
The planet, which is almost the same size as Earth, will appear alongside the moon, looking like a bright star next to the lunar satellite. Sri Lanka will be treated to a rare view of planet Venus today.
The Sri Lanka Planetarium said the angle between the Sun and Venus will turn to a maximum of 47 degrees, resulting in Venus to look brighter than usual.
Accordingly, Sri Lankans will be able to witness Planet Venus from 6.30pm to 9pm today.
